State of Finland Has the Most Impressive Sovereign Funding Team 2009 (15.5.2009)

EuroWeek, the trade journal of the financial sector, has conducted a poll among international banks on the most impressive actors of the year in the financial market. Representatives of the Finance Divison of the Finnish State Treasury were given the honour of accepting the award granted to the state of Finland on Wednesday, 13 May 2009.

The winning award was received in the category of Most Impressive Sovereign Funding Team 2009. A total of 30–40 portfolio management teams of international banks took part in the poll. Mr. Ari-Pekka Latti, Deputy Director of State Treasury’s Funding and Liquidity Management unit, was also shortlisted in the category of Most Impressive Sovereign Funding Official.

According to Head of Division Teppo Koivisto, the award is a magnificent acknowledgement for the long-term development work that has been carried on in the State Treasury over the years in central government funding and debt management. Koivisto maintains that the personnel are motivated and highly skilled, and they deserve the greatest commendation for the award.
