Compensation for victims of criminal damage

If you are a victim of a crime, you may be eligible for compensation from state funds for personal injury and suffering. In certain cases, you may also be eligible for material and financial loss due to a crime.

Claiming for compensation

The link displayed below will take you to the Lomake.fi pages. Once there, you can complete and submit a claim electronically, by logging into the Lomake.fi service, or you can print the completed form and put it in the post. The average processing time for application is 6-8 months (October 2017).

The electronic application is made in the Lomake-fi-service, where login is by, for example, online banking codes or a mobile digital certificate. It is worth having the relevant codes ready. The electronic claim form and the requisite annexes in pdf format are sent direct from the Lomake.fi service.

A claim form that has been completed with care and includes the correct annexes in pdf format will be accepted for processing quicker.
